R.I.P. Flesh

"I affirm, by boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus out Lord, I die daily." 1 Corinthians 15:31

All of us have shortcomings that separate us from God, that's what happened when sin entered the world. They could be our attitude, whatever we would rather do than spend time with God, or our own selfish desires. This verse says that we should figuratively die to our flesh (by prayer and fasting) to rid ourselves of qualities unlike Christ. As Christ cleans out our hearts, we can follow the two most important laws (Matthew 22:36-40), which are to love God and love others.
